Trusted College Admission Counseling
Trusted College Admission Counseling I cherish being on a soccer team, where the bond between my teammates and me is essential for achieving success. Appreciating uniqueness and connecting to different characters augments my own maturity and depth. The value in telling my story is just as important as hearing another. I love group projects in school, where ideas and creativity flow between people. I adore the end of a cross country race when all the girls from different schools hug and laugh with one another. Despite our differences, Emily and I have a healthy relationship in which we are able to learn from one another; the acknowledgement of our individual value allows us to avoid bitterness. I strive to continue improving my ability to be comfortable with disagreement in order to learn more from my peers. I may not always send up agreeing with Emily, or other people I care about, but I should at least try to understand a different perspective. Only then can I create a bridge that connects two different ideas, allowing for a more harmonious world. So, I try to listen with an open mind, even when that feels extremely difficult. At first, I was an impatient climber who would try and solve the wall before me, making split-second decisions. However, this strategy rapidly tired me out after beginning to climb. Clearly, this method wasnât going to get the job done; I had to change my mindset. Now, when I approach a wall, I first draw the problem out in my mind, using my hands to examine the holds. We still laughed until our faces turned tomato red. We still screamed our favorite Taylor Swift songs as if there was no tomorrow. Nothing could get in between the love we had for each other, even our vehemently opposing opinions. Even when my friends beg to go home from fatigue, I insist on attempting another route. I donât feel Iâve had a sufficient climbing session until my forearms are pulsing and the skin on my fingertips are raw. When that irritation begins to overtake my ability to concentrate on another personâs outlook, I always try to draw from my experiences of living both in the South and in the West. They are surrounded by different cultures and experiences. I donât necessarily have to find validity in everyoneâs viewpoints to at least listen to their reasoning. âThese people are just confused,â Emily whispered to me as she stared out the car window at the gay couples walking down the rainbow streets of the Castro. I was utterly offended by her statement, but I replied calmly, âLet people be who they are.â Emily and I grew up in Texas together as inseparable friends. Patience, collaboration, and determination are all needed when climbing a wall, like in any field of research. I no longer say I canât do something, instead approaching challenges with the utmost confidence. If one plan falls short, I reassess and approach the wall from another angle. I am comfortable making decisions, even when I donât know what the outcome may be. Through this life-changing sport I have strengthened not only my body but also my mind, learning the beauty of problem solving. Sometimes, pure adrenaline rushes through my body, making me want to bang my hands on the table out of complete anger towards an opinion. I have learned, though, that suppressing my emotional side during a time of disagreement and instead responding with calmness gets my point across more effectively. The best things about climbing is that there is no clear-cut way to climb a wall, and that there is always a new challenge. My climbing partners say that I take the most unorthodox routes when climbing, but ironically theyâre the most natural and comfortable paths for me. I get lost in the walls and climb for hours, as time becomes irrelevant. I think of nothing else but reaching the last hold and forget all of my worries. For twelve years that was our beautiful home, and we enjoyed every moment together. Last summer, Emily visited my new home of five years, San Francisco, for the first time.

Write My Admission Essay
Write My Admission Essay Catch-22 speaks to me because I donât have the combat experience many people associate with military service. It spends most of its pages describing the time between combat, the little absurdities that make up the majority of time in the military, with very short bursts of action. I share a cultural reference frame with Catch-22 that enriches the experience. In contrast, if my copy of Don Quixote didnât have footnotes, I would be quite lost. I am unable to say that any one book is important to me, all I can say is that Catch-22 is important to me today and hope to discover the book that will be important to me tomorrow. I invite St. Johnâs to help me find that book, and perhaps I will be able to help someone else find theirâs. War Satire as a sub-genre is of particular importance. The seriousness of war, literally life and death, makes it a subject people tend to develop core values around. Being overtly anti-war could cause you and your message to be immediately dismissed by those that view an anti-war stance as anti-troop or anti-patriotic. I find it very intriguing that with the right story and progression, anyone can be led to not only a deeper understanding of a subject but also a greater appreciation for one. Surreal Numbers follows a couple on vacation on an island. They find a rock with inscriptions written in Hebrew. We use these building blocks of math and numbers all of the time and yet we do not truly stop to think about what they are or why they work the way they do. I was one of those very people and I would be lying if I said that I fully appreciate math for what it is. Only through my own curiosity and self-motivated research have I learned to appreciate more than I had before. Surreal Numbers by Knuth helped me put what numbers are into more perspective. Like other fantasy writers who go by initials, J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, Rowling summons foreign phrases, literary devices, and language jokes, and transfigures them into clever names for her characters, objects, and places. The works of Tolkien and Lewis reflect their authorsâ knowledge of philology, but can veer into pretentiousness. Rowling seems to want as many readers as possible to share in the fun -- slogging through ancient Gobbledegook epics is not required. As a result of reading this book and the Meno, I have a much different perspective on how knowledge comes into being and how it is communicated, or in the case of my public education, not communicated. What effect does it have on what you think or how you think? â Every bit of art, knowledge, thought, and opinion has value and can change a person. If you really care about ideas, explaining why one is important is almost impossible because every idea intersects with and plays off of other ideas. For every book I read I find myself adding at least three more to my reading list, whether they inspired the author or were inspired by him. The most beautiful things in the world are ideas, constantly changing, altered by experience and learning. The inscription stated that any element of the left set is not greater than or equal to an element of the right setâ"a very simple idea upon which to build a number system. It proceeds logically, then showing the recursive nature of numbers and how they build upon previous numbers. The beauty of this notion of sets is this idea that 0 is the origin of numbers. After some rough translation and a lot of thought, they realize the slab talks about the logic process of classifying numbers. Neither of the two are mathematicians but they take upon the task and try to glean everything they can from the inscriptions. Somehow, I found the way this scenario was presented to be engaging and allowed me to be drawn into the story. Their first simple conclusion was that any number is the pair of sets to the left and right of that number. It is a rather slim book, yet because of its density it takes awhile to read in order to understand what it says. In Platoâs Meno (thanks for sending!), Socrates posed an ingenious question to his student about how to double the area of a square. The student intuited that one would simply double the side lengths of the square but in reality that would quadruple the area of the square. The prompt for this essay was âDiscuss a book that has particular significance for you. Specifically, letâs imagine that there were no elements in either the left or right set. Then the statement above about left elements and right elements would still be true as long as one of the sets has nothing. So you would start off with 0, and then you could get -1 and 1 by using 0 in the left or right set, and then it builds that way forever in both directions. The poor pay the price while the rich reap the benefit. By using satire to infiltrate the minds that would not be receptive to direct anti-war messages, we allow the anti-war messages to form in the readersâ own heads. We allow people to see past what the media and authority figures have trained them to believe and instead think for themselves in their own self-interest. These seditious thoughts that break the myth of glory, and prevent unnecessary sacrifice are of great value if we are to have a society comprised of critical thinkers. Such a society is necessary if the poor are to overcome the effects of media and politicians made up of and owned by the wealthy.

Is It Okay For Parents To Help Edit Their Childs College Essay?
Is It Okay For Parents To Help Edit Their Child's College Essay? No matter what the university asks you to write in your submission, remember that admissions officials are not simply looking for your ability to use big, frilly words. In your essay, remember to be yourself and speak in your voice. I encourage kids to think about writing their essay as though theyâre describing a snapshot in time. They need to think about those snapshots that have defined them. You have to slow down to appreciate how the words sounds, how they flow into each other and then slowly drift away. I even began to write poetry, after years of telling myself that I was destined to write prose and prose only for the rest of my life. I began to appreciate the nuances of a personâs writing style, how diction, syntax, sentence length, and dialogue could play together like chemicals and making a book simmer, bubble, foam, or explode. And an appreciation for the finer point of writing has widened the genres I readâ"from fantasy to classics, autobiographies to mysteries, nonfiction to adventure and beyond. I still read voraciously, but now I read deeply as well. This not only encouraged me on a personal level, but it reminds me to this day the importance of diversity and representation when I write stories. I understand how important it is to see yourself in media for the first time because I experienced it. While these books will forever remain etched in my heart, the book that shapes my thoughts the most today isLes Miserables,by Victor Hugo. In middle school my two favorite book series were Harry Potter and Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I drew on her strength often during the rough and awkward moments of middle school. At a recent student retreat, everyone in my class was asked to draw a timeline of our lives. There are a lot of ways I could break up my life timeline, from states I lived in to schools Iâve attended, but I could also break it up by my favorite book . In first grade, my mother bought me the first five Junie B. Jones books, and I was hooked. It would be fair to say that this was all due to Shellieâs upbringing. My room was on the first floor, right in front of Shellieâs hair salon, a small business that she ran out of her home. Five Examples Of Transfer Apply Texas Essay A Statement Of Purpose
Five Examples Of Transfer Apply Texas Essay A Statement Of Purpose Youâll quickly be able to spot whatâs wrong and know what to do when you begin your second draft. Make sure to include elements from each of your lists. Influencers may be your high school drama teacher or a famous actor or actress (make sure you detail why they are your influencer. Wrote my first play in the fifth grade and then directed the production for the entire school. After you complete each list, start elaborating by adding in details. This means that we can help you craft an essay based upon your own unique experiences and aspirations. Avoid the use of excessive humour and excuses as to why you have low grades. Make sure that when you set out to write that you write the entire thing from the beginning. Avoid the temptation to cut and past but instead, open up a new file and start all over from the beginning. Before you start your second draft, set your first draft aside for a few days and then read it again with fresh eyes. I have learned to accept my âambiguityâ as âdiversity,â as a third-culture student embracing both identities in this diverse community that I am blessed to be a part of. I look around my room, dimly lit by an orange light. On a desk in the left corner, a framed picture of an Asian family is beaming their smiles, buried among US history textbooks and The Great Gatsby. A Korean ballad streams from a pair of tiny computer speakers. Pamphlets of American colleges are scattered about on the floor. A cold December wind wafts a strange infusion of ramen and leftover pizza. On the wall in the far back, a Korean flag hangs besides a Led Zeppelin poster. The best applications and the weakest donât come to committee. Itâs the gigantic stack in the middle that warrants discussion. Unlike other sites, we are also able to offer complete essay development through our proprietary Biograph⢠process. Once you have your list and a few sentences written, it should be a bit easier to narrow your topic to just one or two things at most. WORD PACKAGES Some phrases â" free gift, personal beliefs, final outcome, very unique â" come in a package we donât bother to unpack. They wade through long lists of candidates, state by state, region by region. If you try to work through the stress, you may end up producing subpar work. PROCEED We hire only the best academic writers to our team. The theme hook needs to be strong enough to make your message clear and set your essay apart from everyone elseâs. The opening hook needs to be intriguing enough to get the reader interested in the story. Anything you can think of should be added to the list as long as it meets the three criteria we mentioned earlier. These will become the first morsels of truth you will include in your essay. You need a strategy to get all of that into an essay and still tell a compelling story. You will have to pull out all the stops to make it happen. Here are some practical guidelines you can use to make sure that the essay you create delivers the exact message you want them to receive. The point of the essay is to highlight your strengths and minimize the weaknesses. Discover schools with the programs and courses youâre interested in, and start learning today. If you're starting to feel frustrated or overwhelmed by your essay, take a break and do something else. A short walk around your neighborhood can help clear your mind and help you brainstorm new ideas for your composition. If you're still feeling overwhelmed, do something completely unrelated to your essay and forget about it completely for a while. This might include a hobby, a genre of music, an important person in your life, a pivotal memory or experience, a bookâ"anything meaningful that you consider part of your identity or that defines you. Start by making a list of these things and creating a word web of other relevant or secondary aspects of this one idea, person, object, or experience. Write some brief sentences about exactly why it is important to you.

Application Essay
Application Essay Remember this is more of a written job interview than a first date in paragraph form. Just get startedâ"the hardest part is the first part. Starting early is key to writing a college essay, so you should get started the summer before your senior year. If you can get your essay finished during this summer, youâll have plenty of time to adjust it or rewrite it, as well as to get started on other essays, as well. Plus youâll be in a position to apply for early decision deadlines by the winter, which is always a good idea. So for now, how do you create a college application essay, personal essay, common app essay, or whatever you need to write to get in? These tips will get you most of the way thereâ"youâll just have to come up with the exact words. The college admission essay format is dependent on the structure you use when writing it. You are probably used to the standard five-paragraph essay with the introduction, three-paragraph body and the conclusion. However, in most cases, this is not the recommended format for an application essay. Now that you have the outline as your guiding light to use when writing your essay, it is time to write it. It is said that a writer is only as good as his rewrites, and this is how you are going to hack this essay. Because personal essays are about you, you may find yourself on a roll re-living your memories. Your personal reflections are the key to keeping the reader invested, but donât let them carry you away. Stay focused on the essay promptâ"for example, a question about an experience outside the classroom that shaped who you are. Make what you write about what you learned from the experience, not the exact details or context of the story. Of course you can find samples of admissions essays online but be aware that if you can find them, so can everyone else. And the admissions board will soon get sick of reading the same idea over and over again. First, write down a rough draft without going back to edit anything. After you are done, read through it while noting the mistakes. Over the years, students who tell me they absolutely love to write have said they struggle with the application essay. So if youâve been biting your nails or tearing your hair out even a little, youâre not alone. Answer the questionâ"this sounds obvious, but it can be easy to forget. Each paragraph in this instance will be part of the narrative you are giving. The same applies where the essay is critical one or a persuasive essay. Your admission essay lets you personalize your application. The writing sample you submit will be considered in both the admission and competitive scholarship selection process. Be sure to include your full name on each page of your submission. It is completely unique and no other student will have anything the same. Our writers here ensure that your essay is unique. You need to think outside of the box and grab their attention in a new way. Here, the reader is introduced to the idea of what you are going to write about. The format of the body is dependent on what you want to write about, and this content is dependent on the college admission essay topic you have. If the question expects a narrative of sorts, your essay will take a narrative format. They donât copy and paste example essays and they donât resell your essay. It will pass any plagiarism checker and it will be a breath of fresh air for the admission board. The best admissions essays answer the admission essay question fully without rambling and in line with the guidelines. They sell a student without sounding egotistical and they express an interest in the chosen institution without sound like a know it all or an ass kisser.

Strategies for Changing Brand Perception
Strategies for Changing Brand Perception If you are presented with flashcards of product logos, how many will you be able to identify? When presented with a logo or a brand name, what immediately comes to your mind? What feelings does the name invoke? How do you respond to it? Now try thinking back to the first time you encountered that brand. What did you think of it back then? What do you think of it now? Has it changed? If so, what changed? This means that your brand perception has undergone a shift. © Shutterstock.com | Stuart MilesIn this article, we 1) understand the basic concept of branding, 2) how to develop a brand strategy, 3) a quick overview on brand perception, 4) actionable strategies for changing brand perception for your company.THE CONCEPT OF BRANDINGBefore we go any further on the topic of brand perception, let us first take a look of what branding is.A âbrandâ is a name, term, design, or any other feature that distinguishes a product from one specific seller or manufacturer from that of another. âBrandingâ, on the other hand, is more than the process of choosing a unique name or image for a product. It actually involves embedding that unique name and image in the minds of the customers through various strategies and techniques, such as advertising campaigns and other marketing programs. Its goal is to make the brand gain a solid foothold in the market and carve a market comprised of loyal customers.A business cannot handle its marketing aspect without to uching on branding. In fact, branding is considered to be one of the most important aspects of a business since it is one of the major tools or strategies that will give the business a competitive edge. With their brands businesses give a promise â" a representation of what they offer to their customers. It is also a tool that can be used to differentiate their products or services from that of their competitors. The brand is the thing that customers will first see, and we all know what they say about first impressions: they stick, and they last. Therefore, it is important to make sure you have a brand that fully represents the promise of what and who your business is, and make your customers stick with you.Let us take a look at why branding is important for all businesses. All businesses have a message to convey to customers, whether this is having the best product or wanting the customers to buy their product instead of others. Branding is their tool in order to deliver this messag e clearly and effectively to its target market.Branding adds credibility to a business. Customers will take a business more seriously if they have a brand to associate it with.Branding mainly targets the emotions of the customers, so if you want to connect with your customers on an emotional level, the best way to do that is to have excellent branding strategies in place.Branding is also a good way to motivate your customers into buying your products or service. Turn them into buyers and start earning that profit!Companies would like to have a customer base, develop loyal customers that will keep coming back to (and buying) the business.DEVELOPING A BRAND STRATEGYBranding does not end with coming up with a good name, an even better logo, and slapping both on flyers, brochures and advertisements that you release to your target market. Your businessâ brand strategy is not something that you should take lightly, if you want your brand to have meaning for your customers.Brand strategy involves the what, where, when, how, and to whom you will be conveying your brand messages. What message will you communicate? What channels will you utilize to convey the message? Who will you target, and who will you use to get the message across? What timing will you follow in the delivery of the message? The aim of having a brand strategy is to increase the equity of the brand. Brand equity is seen as that value-adding element that will set your product apart from identical or similar products or services in the market. The stronger the brand equity, the higher will be the value of your product or service. That gives businesses a license of sorts to increase its premium or its price.Take Coca-Cola, for example. The market is now saturated with different brands of soda. However, Coca-Cola products are more expensive, and that is mainly down to the fact that it has already built a very strong brand equity. The same is true for Facebook. Other similar social network platforms have sprung in recent years, but Facebook remains to be the most popular and still widely used platform because it already has a solid brand equity besides its network effects.Much of the reason why some brands carry more weight or have more brand equity is because the companies or businesses behind these brands were able to find ways so that the market will have more emotional or personal attachment to them. Coca Colaâs advertising campaigns over the years involved utilizing the concepts of family, togetherness, and having that sense of belonging, all while sharing a drink of Coca-Cola.Any company can come up with a unique brand name, design an eye-catching logo, and come up with a genius tagline. However, all that will be for nothing if the business is unable to create meaning or perception in the minds of the customers.[cp_modal id=cp_id_75506] [/cp_modal]QUICK OVERVIEW ON BRAND PERCEPTIONHere is a dose of reality: management may think that their product is the best in the market. The public, however, may think differently. This is because they are from different ends of the spectrum. Now it is up to them to make sure that their assurance about their product will align with the publicâs perception of their product, and of their brand, as a whole. The business can argue all it wants about how the public is wrong, but in business, public perception is a reality. Unless the business is able to change the negative perception of the public of their brand, it will not be able to improve how the brand is seen or perceived, and the business will not be able to move forward.Brand perception does not develop overnight. It is a result of various experiences, such as:Advertising or marketingPrevious experience of the customer with the brandInteractions with the sales force, customer service and support, and other employees of the com pany that owns the brandReviews from trusted sourcesWord of mouth or recommendation by personal acquaintancesThree Layers of Brand PerceptionDerrick Daye, the author, and a senior brand strategist at the consultancy firm The Blake Project, said that brand perception or meaning has three main layers.Cultural meaning: This is the first layer that consumers see and respond to whenever they see a brand. It is that aspect that is easily influenced by popular or local culture. Thus, it is not rare to see brands make use of celebrities to leverage popular culture, or specific representations to leverage local culture. Examples would be the Molson beer in Canada and Subway in the United States.Community meaning: In this context, âcommunityâ refers to any group of associated people, or people that share something in common. It could be a hobby, an interest, or a common cause. Harley Davidson, Apple, and Patagonia have been cited as brands that have the ability to attract entire communiti es.Individual meaning: This looks into the person himself. Does the brand make enough of a difference to convince a user to spend money on it? In the end, this is what marketers aspire for, so they must first pierce through the first two layers â" influence the cultural and community meanings â" in order to be able to eventually influence the personal or individual meaning. From there, marketers may also be able to change how an individual perceives a brand.STRATEGIES FOR CHANGING BRAND PERCEPTIONWhen a company notices that their brand is no longer making as much money as before, they normally become resistant towards making some changes. But when they do, the first thing they look into is the possibility of changing the advertising agency they used to work with, or giving their logo a facelift. Or they could throw more money on a new advertising campaign that, sadly, may or may not work. There are many strategies that can be employed in order to change brand perception. Before you can change anything, however, you must first gain a clear picture on the perception of your brand. How does the public perceive your brand? (ACTUAL)How do you want the public to perceive your brand? (IDEAL)Once these two questions are answered and you see significant differences, itâs time to take action and come up with ways in order to make them correlate.Perform an internal checkThis entails looking within the organization. Is there something you can change that will enable the business to deliver the promise of their brand to their customers? Is the customer service and support no longer performing well? Did the management suddenly change objectives and it is no longer aligned with that of the brand? There have been times in the past when brand suffered due to poor management, and the restructuring or change of leadership in the companies have proven to be enough of a nudge to make the public or the customers change their attitude towards the company and the brand.Make your bra nd socialTV and print advertising are still reliable tools, but they are no longer only â" or the best â" options available. These days, all businesses are now cognizant of the power of social media and the wonders that social forms of brand publicity can do for them. Advertising or establishing online presence in social sites is definitely highly recommended, even to startups. Users of these sites are seven times more likely to spend or purchase a product or service if they see the brand on these social sites.Studies show that social media is responsible for the largest shift in brand perception. Take advantage of this trend and make sure your brand is visible in social media sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram, to name a few.Pay attention to your product or service experienceBusinesses pour so much of their resources towards their marketing campaigns and strategies, but they fail to improve their products or services. This is one thing that is often overlo oked even by the most seasoned marketers. It is often said that marketing strategies can make or break brand perception. That is true, yes, but that is not all there is to it. They often forget that the product or the service experience itself can also create or destroy brand perception. What does this mean? A business may have the best marketers in town, and they have excellent marketing strategies in place. In fact, their marketing communication is impeccable, and can easily reach and influence the customers. However, if the product is of poor quality, or the service was delivered in a less-than-satisfactory manner, the customers are still going to have their perceptions undergo a shift or change. Therefore, never lose sight of your product or service development. Continue to look for ways to improve your offering. When we say âproduct or service experienceâ, we are not only referring to the quality of the product or service, but also the various aspects that make up the whole e xperience. You also have to rethink and reconsider the following:Product features. These include the specifications, functions, styling, and even the packaging of the product. Find ways to improve them.Pricing. Monitor your pricing. Do your customers still find your pricing competitive? Reasonable?Distribution strategy. Think of ways to improve the delivery of your products and services to your customers.Customization. Will you be able to customize your products or services for your customers? Consider bundling or unbundling of products and services.Customer service and support. How well does your company handle complaints and other customer concerns?Focus on key playersBrand perception is influenced by word of mouth, recommendations, and reviews. You can start by focusing on key players, or the individuals and entities that have enough power to change the public opinion. For example, a brand of athletic shoes has been getting flak for being associated with illegal labor practices, r esulting to negative brand perception. The company addressed this by signing up a world-famous athlete, who also happens to be considered from a minority group, to endorse the brand. Here are other examples: restaurants enlist the help of food bloggers and food critiques to improve their image. A food manufacturer forms a partnership with a health guru to incorporate their products in his diet or food plan.Be flexible and always stay on your toesAlways keep in mind that branding is a continuous, ongoing, process, and brand perceptions can evolve over time. Just because you were able to create an excellent brand perception among your customers does not mean you should be complacent. Continuous monitoring is still required so you will remain in touch with your customers and how they perceive your brand.Conduct regular or periodic surveys to existing customers regarding their current brand perceptions. Use questionnaires and/or feedback forms.Keeping in touch with customers through soci al media channels.Research what new customers need or are looking for.Anticipate the shifts or changes by analyzing their behaviors. This will make you more prepared to deal with the effects of these changes in brand perceptions. Also, be quick on your feet. As soon as negative perceptions arise, act on them. Letting them slide, hoping that they will soon pass anyway, may be counter-productive.These strategies apply when the company decides to continue investing on the existing brand. There is one other option, which is considered as the last resort when studies by the business reveal that the market segment being tapped into by the brand no longer has a future. This option entails inventing a new brand altogether.
